We use portable computer controlled Neuro Jet nerve stimulators of the fifth generation. Neuro Jet is a small electronic device, which may be put in a belt bag easily. The contact electrodes are placed on skin behind the earlobe area with the help of sticky patches. Stimulation is painless. The patient feels only a kind of slight tingling or vibration. Frequency and intensity of electrical impulses are controlled by computer. The display on the front panel indicates the regimes of the normal operation, the level of maximal stimulation, low battery or lack of contact.
During the first few days of treatment the patient must wear the device constantly 24 hours. After the third night he may sleep without device and use it only in case if the symptoms of withdraw show up. Neuro Jet Therapy allows the patient to eat normally, to move freely, to practice psychotherapy, and be involved in all kind of activities. During stimulation, some people may experience drowsiness and somnolence. Consciousness is not disturbed. Neuro Jet Therapy isn’t a kind of electric convulsion therapy.
